How Limit Works
Understand Limit before installing
Limit uses advanced blocking technology to restrict addictive content. This requires special permissions and a unique installation process.
Limit works like a company managed device
Limit cannot be uninstalled or disabled.
- Limit works the same as when companies manage work profiles on employee phones
- Limit uses MDM via a feature of Android called: Device Owner
- Allows robust app blocking and settings management
- Limit has NO access to internal App's data (banking, emails, etc.)
- Permissions are used only for App blocking and locking down relevant settings
Limit Browser
Limit ships with Limit Browser.
- Features precise web content blocking capabilities
- Other browsers are blocked to enforce website blocking via Limit
- Built on Mozilla Firefox with custom blocking extensions
- Source code is currently private, we are planning to make it available soon for security reviewers
Installation Process
Installing Limit with MDM permissions is complex. Limit has an installer to help with the process.
- Installation requires USB connection to your phone
- Installation process requires temporarily allowing the installer access to your device

- Self-installation is also available via command line (ADB)
